r32 gt4 to rear wheel drive.

Hi all. Just a quick question on the r32 gt4. My friends had her 32 written off, but most of it is still in good shape, and is wanting to rebody it. Now a gt4 shell has come up, and was wondering if any1 knows if her turbo rear wheel drive gear will bolt in. I'm assuming it'd be a case of switching complete front end subframe etc. Is this possible? or can ya get away with just fitting the 2wheel drive hubs and leaving the subframe as is? On a related, but side note, Does any1 know of any1 out there with a matt black r32 4door thats had a frontal impact in the last week or two? Would quite like to have a talk with this person. Cheers

as far as i am aware you will be able to swap everything between the shells. From what I know the only difference with a GTS-4 and GTSt shell is the wider trans tunnel in the 4 for the transfer case. Im sure beau or someone will be able to confirm / deny this.

The 2wd front subframe wont fit in the 4wd body, however the 2wd hubs will fit on, you will need the alloy 4wd engine mounts to fit to your 2wd engine and will need to make an adapter plate to fit the 2wd box to the 4wd gearbox crossmember(simple job) otherwise everything else can swap over.

I might be able to help out there, I have some alloy engine mounts still i am pretty sure, but am after some 4wd front hubs. also have a 4wd crossmember if you want it. thinking we could swap if you go ahead with the gts4 shell.

hey, when I posted this, I'd only talked with her old man about it. Went over and had a look at the car the other day. I'm not an expert but rekon it'll be easier to fix her car. No structural damage, no suspension or control arm damage. just stoved the back corners in, down where ya factory end caps wud go, but has kinda creased the whole rear panel. lights and bumper still ok. atleast i rekon be easier than re shelling it. Even trying to get her to stitch sum gtr rear gaurds on there, or something like that. But still if any1 hears bout a 32 matt black car thats had a mischeif, please let me know, even through pm. He's hit the car in a car park and run. Couple cars got damaged. Cheers
