my water pump gave up yesterday so it ant going far at the mo
does ne1 know how long in hours it should take 2 change water pumps had 2 place $500-600 just 4 labour

Hey there, welcome. Bummer bout your car. It not a major job. definately a major if done wrong, but maybe 2-3 hours at a stab. You'll probly best to replace cambelt while its off, then maybe idler, tensioner, cam seals etc, Ya can get carried away pretty quickly. bare minimum water pump be round 100-150, cambelt 50, then ya labour on that.

cheers 4 that hadnt thought of cam seals, cambelt,water pump,idler,tencnr $385 from cockram id rather do it my self than pay that sorta $ 4 labour .

Do it yourself? Big risk if you dont know what your doing. all RBs are interference engines, so if you (censored) it up valves meet pistons and your engine is lunched

mite just stick 2 getting sum1 that knows has done cambelt,waterpump,idler,tencnr b4 not keen on ruining all time and $$$ i spent on mods so far.but would be a gd excuse 4 rb30 :D

lol another on teh Rb30 band wagon.. .. each to their own.. but if they are seriously as great as everyone bangs on about, how come Nissan never made one? (waiting for the inevitable flaming from someone)

Because they prefered to make money on RB26 parts when they constantly (censored) out :P and as far as i know they did make an RB30DE for a one off concept car back in the 80's

Did you buy this off trademe from in chch? is it a silver coupe? Wot sort of revs are you seeing good power with that turbo on the 25? any idea what size exhaust housing you have on there? cheers.
